Thanksgiving

5:35 p.m. At long last the bird goes into the oven.

That’s the upshot. How we got there and with what toil and trepidation – that’s a story for tomorrow. I haven’t an ounce of energy left. Enough only to say that I hope every one of you had a lovely and love-filled Thanksgiving.

Until tomorrow – when we can process it all.

  1. I had a Thanksgiving like that back in the mid 1970s - the kitchen sink backed up at the mashed potatoes stage - no water... Half a dozen guests, me a newlywed. We ended up cooking the rest of the meal up the street at a neighbor's and transporting it back home. It seems funny looking back - at the time it was anything but...

  2. But at least it got in the oven! I am sure the meal was wonderful, if somewhat late. We had a plumbing problem once on Thanksgiving, too. I hope yours has been solved.
