travel day

From a rich day of photos, which surely speaks to the richness of the day's events, I go to a quiet day as I finally turn my attention to the trip before me.

Photos on travel days are simple. Today, I offer a modest sunrise.






And I will end it with a breakfast photo which, to you, is so routine, but for me is quite sentimental. I'll be missing breakfasts with Ed. This picture is a reminder of how good they are. But, missing is part of my life. Perhaps it's part of most people's lives. I put it aside as best as I can. Here it is -- a blushing red picture and very lovely ending to a morning filled with packing, sifting, sorting -- the usual pretravel stuff.






My flights are straightforward  -- Detroit then Amsterdam then Warsaw. My sister will be there to greet me and if all goes well, I'll be in my apartment by early afternoon.


A short post then, as I begin my travels to my second home.
